Corallorhiza maculata var. occidentalis fma. aurea

The Western Spotted Coralroot, Corallorhiza maculata var. occidentalis, the variety distinguished by a broader lip and an earlier bloom season from the ordinary variety of the Spotted Coralroot, Corallorhiza maculata var. maculata, has a completely unspotted form, fma. immaculata, with bright yellow stems and yellow flowers with a white lip.  It also has a form, fma. aurea, with golden-yellow stems and spotted flowers.  This post concerns that golden-stemmed and spotted form which we found in two different locations this spring, locations we had visited previous years but where we had not found this color form.
